Grab your spoon – now there’s two more reasons to tuck in!
The team are over the moon to have won two certificates at the 2024 Great Taste Awards.
The awards, which are hosted by The Guild of Fine Foods, seek to recognise excellence in food and drink manufacturing, with a panel of judges looking at quality, appearance, texture and, most importantly, taste.
Our Vanilla with Vanilla Pod and Blueberry Waffle ice cream flavours both impressed the judges, receiving a star each.
Our NPD and Production manager Ross Harwood is particularly excited, having worked on the development of the flavours recently:
"Vanilla and Blueberry were two recipes we made a decision to enhance. They were both delicious but we knew they could be further improved to really bring the flavours out. It’s brilliant to see that work recognised this year!
Our mission to make fantastic tasting ice cream drives everything we do and we’re so pleased that the judges got a flavour of that passion."
The judges praise for the flavours definitely shows that the hard work in developing the flavours has paid off, with the panel saying this about the vanilla:
'This ice cream, fresh on the nose, is vibrant and fresh looking. The texture is lovely, and on the palate it delivers what you are looking for. It isn't too sweet, the vanilla lifts it and you are left with a clean creamy sweetness for a long time. Really lovely.'
...and this about the Blueberry Waffle:
'This is a smooth and creamy ice cream, with a generous addition of blueberry which brings real fruity sweetness to the product. We liked the texture of the ice cream and the way the blueberry is present as a compote rather than stirred through.
Attractive looking, with a generous swirl of blueberries, this thick ice cream has great structure and fabulous mouth-feel rich with dairy notes. They work in harmony with the sweet, fruity natural-tasting blueberries.'
